01 - 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced into 8 pieces (about 3/4 inch thick)

02 - 7 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
03 - 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
04 - 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
05 - 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)

07 - 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

08 - 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
# Directions:
01 - Preheat oven to 400°F or heat grill to medium-high.
02 - In a bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, chives (if using), salt, and pepper until well blended.
03 - Place bread slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
04 - Spread garlic butter mixture generously over each slice.
